Jida completed her primary and secondary education in Malaysia, before pursuing her tertiary education in Ohio, USA, in Journalism, majoring in Public Relations. Upon graduation, she served various organisations including UEM Berhad, Media Prima Berhad, Alliance Financial Group before joining Tesco Malaysia as the Head of Communications and CSR in 2011.

Specialised in External Communications, Internal Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility and Digital Communications, Jida was brought on board to manage corporate reputation, develop communications strategies to support business and community goals.

Jida has led Tesco’s pioneering efforts in reducing of food waste in the business through its Food Surplus Donation Programme, rescuing over 800 tonnes of food from going to landfills since the programme first began in 2016. She also advocates children’s health and education through Tesco’s adoption of 63 underserved schools under the School Adoption programme, benefitting over 55,000 school children in the areas that Tesco serves.
As part of a campaign to help Tesco customers reduce their consumption of single-use plastics, Jida has led the work for Tesco’s “Unforgettable Bags”, increasing the reuse rates of shopping bags from 5% to 54% within 8 months, earning Tesco the title of Effie 2018 Brand of the Year.
